ENRICH is a ministry for the wives, fiancées, and girlfriends of the men in the Colony of Mercy
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13
Addiction impacts the entire family, therefore the most effective and long-term recovery encompasses the entire family. One unique component of the Colony of Mercy program is our biblical outreach to family members. ENRICH is a ministry by which wives and fiancées of our residents are invited to join in the process of recovery. From intake to graduation, the women are actively involved in the recovery process for themselves, as well as their husbands. Through Bible studies, counseling and support group meetings, the focus for each woman is her personal relationship with Jesus Christ and His sufficiency in all areas of her life.
More:
There are 3 main components of the ENRICH program. The first component is a 14-chapter topical Bible Study covering a variety of subjects including anger and bitterness, biblical forgiveness, worry and anxiety, the use of our words, and a biblical view of addiction, just to name a few.
The Bible study is designed to be completed over the 4 months of the program. The second component is one-on-one counseling with a trained woman’s counselor. A number of the women live locally and can benefit from face-to-face counseling, however, for women who live a distance and are unable to visit, we accommodate them with phone sessions. The third component is our Saturday women’s support group dedicated to program women. Women in the community whose husbands or boyfriends are struggling with addiction but who aren’t in the Colony of Mercy can contact Leslie Wacker if interested in joining the support group.
Typically, we meet about twice a month with a topic for the day and an opportunity for discussion. The entire ENRICH program is designed to address, biblically, the tough issues that individuals face when in a relationship with a person bound in life-dominating sin. We endeavor to come alongside people to encourage their personal growth and freedom in the process of their loved one’s recovery. It is a very exciting ministry and we see many lives transformed through the love and power of Jesus Christ.
